Marcus Wilbers is the President of Legal Back Office, bringing a wealth of experience in law, human resources, and business management to his role. His career journey began as a practicing attorney at a prominent law firm in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, where he spent eight years representing clients in commercial litigation and medical malpractice cases. However, Marcus discovered his true passion in labor and employment law, and quickly became fascinated by the multifaceted nature of employer-employee relationships.
In 2014, Marcus transitioned into consulting to become more involved in employment decision-making, advising clients on HR and employee benefits, including Affordable Care Act compliance. This gave him insights into the challenges employers face with legal requirements and rising employment costs.
By 2018, he combined his legal and consulting expertise to establish a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), helping small to medium businesses compete for talent, offer a better employee experience, and improve workplace environments. His six years in the PEO industry gave him hands-on experience in scaling a business, optimizing processes, and fostering a healthy company culture.
As President of Legal Back Office, Marcus leverages his diverse background to lead the company. His experience spans labor and employment law, employee benefits management, insurance and risk management, business development, and workplace culture cultivation. Outside of his professional life, Marcus enjoys spending time with his daughter, making people laugh, playing golf, supporting Mizzou sports, and traveling whenever possible. His unique combination of legal acumen and business leadership skills positions him well to guide Legal Back Office in providing valuable services to its clients.
